Walk for a Life 

Suicide can affect every one of us, and every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. By raising awareness, reducing the stigma & encouraging action we can help to reduce the number of lives lost to suicide in Somerset. This is the second year of the Walk for a Life event for World Suicide Prevention Day, the aim is to raise awareness of suicide, remember those that have died by suicide and empower local people to take action to prevent suicide.

You are welcome to arrive at the venue anytime from 10.00, we will have signs and pens for those attending to write the name of a loved one or their reasons for walking today. We will gather together at 10.30 for a short welcome speech and then will set off on a 1.2 mile walk through Taunton, stopping at Vivary Park to spend time reflecting and remembering those we have lost to suicide. The walk follows a wheelchair and pushchair friendly route through Taunton.

We will arrive back at The Museum of Somerset at 12.00, where there will be tea, coffee and cake provided. We have 14 organisations attending Walk for a Life who will be on hand to chat about their support services and provide resources. The organisations attending are displayed below.
